Reddit AMA reader
Paste an AMA link and read it as a transcript.
What it will do
- Paste a thread URL; the reader fetches
<permalink>.jsononce and caches it. - Keep only top-level comments that got a reply from the original poster.
- Render each pair as question and answer, in thread order, without the vote counts.
- Cache by thread id so a second reader of the same AMA costs no request.
- Deleted or edited answers keep whatever was cached, since that is more than Reddit will show.
Where the work goes
projects/ama-reader/app.php— the form and/<thread-id>.projects/ama-reader/Thread.php— fetch, parse, pair. Autoloaded once it exists.db/migrations/0003_ama_cache.sql— the thread cache table.- Reddit wants a real User-Agent and returns 429 without one — set it in the fetcher, not per call.
